“My Yes is Yes, My No is No”

April 6 Is. 42:1-7; Jn. 12:1-11

It is 1:30 a.m. I have had a long day, food bank, prepping for meal, and outreach. I was taken today and tonight by the number of times I said, “No”. Nothing unusual, but I say “no” a lot. Everyone wants money, they want this or that. I ran into one guy, who is 30 now, and he was very angry, no reason whatsoever, just that I could not fulfill his immediate material need. It is material needs that people want, a dollar, etc. I give the food and time, and they love me one minute, the next they hate me. Jesus found the same thing out. He was loved by some, hated by others, and in the end people turned on him. It is not about being loved that matters, it is about being a presence, about being the love to the best of one’s ability. Deo Gratis! Thanks be to God!
