“Loving God and Loving Neighbor”

June 4 Mk. 12:28-34

The heart of the Gospel is to love God and to love your neighbor. For the most part people choose their own interests over others. When you love God, then the interests of others becomes foremost, we become a part of our neighbors lives. I deal with a lot of people who have money, they can do whatever they want. Rather than see themselves as conduits for change they look to the government. We are in times now where the reality is that we need to share, we need to support each other. It begins one by one. People often criticize me because of the way I live my life, but I believe if all of us would live out our lives living want the basics and sharing the rest we would all have every thing we materially need. What is true is that people who are so materially gifted are often so spiritually needy and lacking. They place all of their emphasis on the material and in the process they lose themselves. The older I get the less I seem to need. The more I let go.

Spent day cooking, serving meal, outreach, bed at 3 a.m. Deo Gratis! Thanks be to God!
