“Feed the Hungry”
Lk. 16:19-31: “If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets they will not be convinced even if someone were to rise from the dead.” Today’s Gospel summarizes for me my mission in life, and my purpose for living. We have an obligation to feed those who have no food, and the poor is outside our doors and always present. The life of Jesus says to all of us “Come follow me,” is a life of service and resurrection. Last Thursday night I bccame ill and went to the hospital where I remained until today with a bile closure. I have been in a lot of pain, and I have thought a lot about the fragility of life and of living in the moment. The moment is all we have, and for me in that moment my call is to care for the poor. We fed sixty people tonight, all so broken, and I am glad we were there. Deo Gratias! Thanks be to God!
