“Forgiving’
Frances of Rome Mt. 18: 21-35: The mercy of God is unlimited, eternal, unending. It has but one requirement–in order to earn mercy we need ourselves –we must show mercy to others. We are not meant to judge one another; we are meant to love one another. There was a news report last night of Christians killing Moslems; the war in Iraq is a religious war–but the God I know has nothing to do with this–God is one of mercy and forgiveness. I see this on the streets all the time–violence, hatred, and it leads to violence and hatred. Through the years some of the guys have had a hard time understanding me–because I do not return violence with violence—Jesus calls us to be merciful and in being merciful to received mercy. Deo Gratias! Thanks be to God!
